Hi @Sheritta,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Smart Tank 6001 printer won't turn on, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot the issue.

Check the Power Source:

  • Ensure that the power cord is securely connected to both the printer and the power outlet.
  • Try plugging the printer into a different outlet to rule out any issues with the power source.

Inspect the Power Cable:

  • Check for any visible damage to the power cable or power brick. If the cable is frayed or damaged, it may need to be replaced.

Perform a Power Reset:

  • Unplug the printer from the power outlet.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and try turning it on again.

Check the Printer’s Display:

  • If the printer has a display, check if it shows any error messages or if there are any lights blinking that could indicate a specific issue.

Try the Power Button:

  • Press and hold the power button for 10–20 seconds to ensure it's not a temporary unresponsive issue.

Check for Paper Jams or Blockages:

  • Ensure there are no paper jams or other obstructions that could be preventing the printer from powering on.

Reset the Printer (Hard Reset):

  • Unplug the printer, wait a minute, and then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to perform a hard reset. This can sometimes help clear out temporary issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
