HP OfficeJet Pro 8710
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a brand new HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 that wont stop printing blank pages.

I installed the printer with the software provided by the HP website.

After I finished the installation, I printed a test page. After the test page came out, blank pages started printing.

It would not stop so I turned off the printer. I turned the printer back on and blank pages started printing again.

I removed the printer from devices and printers.

I installed the printer the second time via IP address and downloaded the driver from the HP site.

After a succesfull installation, I printed an email to test, After the email came out, blank pages started printing again.

I had to remove all of the paper from the printer in order for the blank page printing to stop.

The printer queue shows that there are 0 jobs in queue.

Why is this happening? Has anyone else camo accross this issue?

Can someone please assist me with this issue? If you need any additional information please let me know.

Thank you

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums After reading your post I see that your printer is printing blank pages. I will be a delight to assist you here.

Superb analysis and brilliant diagnosis of the issue before posting. 🙂  Kudos to you on that score.:)

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

  • When did this issue start?
  • Is your printer antivirus software updated?

If not, Update the antivirus software on the computer.

If still the issue persists, follow the bellow steps:

Update the printer firmware

Update the printer firmware for printers connected to a computer with Windows.

  1. Make sure the printer is on and connected to the computer, either through your local network or a USB cable.

  2. Click here:- https://hp.care/2KAiHXt and then enter your printer model number.

  3. Select your operating system if required.

  4. Click Firmware, and then click Download.

If a Firmware section is not listed, an update is not currently available for your printer.

  5. Click Use HP Download and Install Assistant (Recommended), click Next, and then click Install now.

  6. When the HP Printer Update window opens, see if the printer serial number displays.

    • If the serial number displays, select the checkbox next to it, and then click Update.

    • If the serial number displays but the status is 'not applicable' (grayed out), you do not need to complete the firmware update. Click Cancel.

    • If the serial number does not display and your printer uses a network connection, connect a USB cable to the printer and computer, wait 20 seconds, and then click Refresh. When the serial number displays, select the checkbox next to it, and then click Update.

    1. Search Windows for Devices and Printers, and then click Devices and Printers in the list of results.

    2. Right-click the USB printer device that matches your printer model, and then select Remove Device.

    3. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer and the computer, and then restart the computer.

Uninstall the printer software

  1. If your printer is connected to the computer with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from the printer.

  2. Search Windows for uninstall a program, and then click the Uninstall a program Control Panel setting in the list of results.
