My printer dispkay indicates that an Update is required.
It further displays the following, "A problem has occurred with one of the printer's critical system files. A printer update will be installed to fix the problem". Unfortunately, the wireless can't connect because we got a new router and wifi password is different so printer can't connect. Also, the printer seems to be locked up because none of the buttons function. I have unplugged it, used hosmart app, hp printer scan diagnostic app all to no avail. What can I do to fix it?

Hi @RudyS27
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
When you change your router or Wi-Fi password, you need to reconnect your HP OfficeJet Pro 8210 Printer to the new network.
Here’s how to fix it:
Step 1: Restore Network Settings on the Printer
Press the Wireless button on the printer’s control panel or navigate to Setup > Network Setup.
Select Restore Network Settings to clear the old Wi-Fi connection.
Step 2: Reconnect to the New Network
There are two primary methods to reconnect the printer:
A. Wi-Fi Setup Mode (Recommended)
Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for about 5 seconds until it starts blinking. This puts the printer in Wi-Fi setup mode.
Open the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer.
Tap "Add Printer" and follow the setup instructions to connect it to your new Wi-Fi network.
Enter the updated Wi-Fi password when prompted.
B. WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) Button (If Supported by Your Router)
Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until it starts blinking.
Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
The printer should connect automatically.
Step 3: Print a Network Configuration Report
On the printer, navigate to Setup > Reports.
Print a Network Configuration Report to confirm the printer is now connected to the new Wi-Fi network.
Step 4: Reinstall the Printer on Your Device
If your computer or mobile device doesn't recognize the printer after reconnecting it to the Wi-Fi, remove the old printer configuration:
On Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, remove the old printer entry, and re-add it.
On macOS: Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, remove the old printer, and add it again.
On smartphones, re-add the printer via the HP Smart app.
Step 5: Check for Firmware Updates
HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes. Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.
