Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

I'd be glad to help! As I understand, there's an issue with the C4EB8024 error.

Let's try these steps -

Step 1 Printer Reset -
1) Take out the cartridges.
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Wait for 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Step 2 Update the printer firmware - Refer to this link for steps.

If the issue still persists I have sent you a Private Message with the troubleshooting steps specific to your printer.

Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it. Click here for more details on how to access the private messages on HP Forums.

Let me know how that goes.

I am not sure you can do anything with this device since it is clearly stated you cannot do anything with the printer, No communications what so ever(USB or network!) It is only sane for ~3 seconds which is not enough to start any process of uploading firmware. Hard resets have no affect. Is there anything else that can be done?

I tried the initial fix of unplugging, removing cartridges, waiting, plugging back in and the replacing ink carrtridges.  Still getting the same error.  This is a BRAND NEW computer. Right out of the box

btw - it initially worked fine - ran a print test and everything - but when I actually tried to print something on it, it would not communicate with the computer and it started with this error/flashing lights
