My printer needs resetting the margins. Suddenly it doesn’t print the who line, it misses printing the last words or two on each line.
In the settings it has set A4 as the chosen page. I cannot change this page format. Although I always use this format tonprint my documents. And until recently I didn’t have this issue of missing the words at the far end on each line.
what am I supposed to do? If anyone knows the solution I would be grateful.

Hi @gelhakim,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Laser 107w is having issues with margin settings or page formatting that’s causing text to be cut off. Here are a few steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the problem:
Check Printer Settings:
- Go to System Preferences on your Mac.
- Select Printers & Scanners.
- Choose your HP Laser 107w and click on Options & Supplies.
- Check if there are any settings related to margins or page formatting and ensure they are correct.
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Since you’re using Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, make sure you have the latest drivers for your printer. Visit the HP website to find drivers compatible with your OS version.
- Reinstall the drivers if necessary.
Check Page Setup in Applications:
- When printing, ensure the page setup in the application you’re using (like Word or another text editor) is set to A4.
- Look for any margin settings within the application and adjust them to ensure they are set correctly.
Printer Alignment and Calibration:
- Perform a printer alignment or calibration if your printer has this option in its menu. This can sometimes resolve issues with text alignment and margins.
Test with Different Documents:
- Print different types of documents to see if the issue is consistent across all files or just specific ones. This can help determine if the problem is with the document formatting.
Reset Printer Settings:
- Try resetting your printer to factory settings. This can sometimes resolve strange issues with printing.
Firmware Update: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Updates can sometimes fix bugs or issues with printer performance.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
