@5920, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Congrats on your shiny new MacBook Air with the M4 chip — that’s a beauty! I understand how frustrating it must be when you’re all set to print, but your trusted HP Laser MFP 1005 isn’t quite ready to join the party.

As of now, the official HP driver support for the LaserJet 1005 doesn’t extend to macOS 15.5 (Sonoma). You can check the list of supported operating systems here: HP Driver Page. Unfortunately, macOS 15.5 isn't listed.

While there’s no direct driver, a few users have had success trying basic AirPrint or using Apple’s built-in generic printer drivers — but support may be limited (like no scanning features or advanced settings).

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
