Hi @Jin88,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems your MacBook is running an older version of macOS (10.9.5), and the HP Smart app requires at least macOS 11. Since you can't use the HP Smart app, you still have a few options for printing and scanning with your HP 9120e.

Download Printer Drivers Manually:

  • Go to the HP support website and search for your HP 9120e printer.
  • Select the macOS version closest to your system (if the latest drivers are not available for 10.9.5, you might find legacy drivers).
  • Download and install the driver package for macOS.

Use AirPrint:

  • If your printer supports AirPrint, you can print wirelessly without needing the HP Smart app.
  • Make sure your printer and MacBook are on the same Wi-Fi network. Then, from any app that supports printing, select your HP printer and print directly.

Use the Apple Print Dialog:

  • If you have installed the correct printer drivers manually, you should be able to use the default macOS print dialog to print from most applications.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
