On my main PC it doesn't even give me an option to print color - this is from WordOn my main PC it doesn't even give me an option to print color - this is from Word

In my Photos app, it also has no option to print colorIn my Photos app, it also has no option to print color

I have a new WIndows 10 computer and even though I've reinstalled the printer and drivers, I cannot get it to allow Color printing. On my older Windows 10 PC I can still print in color. So I know it's not the printer that's broken, but some setting on my new Windows PC. The Virtual Agent had no help for me. I am pretty knowledgable about computers and Printer setup, but I cannot find the setting that is forcing all my printouts to be monochrome. It's a global PC setting, because I can't print color from Word, Adobe Reader, or Photos.

Your suggests most welcome.

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

As I understand, your new Windows PC does not allow to print in color,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Have you tried printing using different applications?

Are you able to make a color photocopy?

Have you installed printer full feature driver?

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP OfficeJet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.go

To reinstall, follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2igKeU1.

When you install Windows Built in Drivers, you would need a scanning app to perform a scan from the computer, therefore, suggest you install HP Scan and Capture apphttps://hp.care/2fAFYxE

If the issue persists, please create a new user account and reinstall printer drivers from the link: https://hp.care/2FVloAd.

Keep me posted,

For I shall follow-up on this case to ensure the concern has been addressed,

And your device is up and running again,

Have a great day 🙂

Cheers 😉
