HP OfficeJet Pro 9132e All-in-One Printer

My new printer works perfectly on WiFi with my personal computer (iMac) but unreliably with my work laptop. I have to flit between WiFi and ethernet connections depending on the performance of the VPN and this seems to cause havoc with my printer connection.  I have worked with HP experts to resolve this and I can seem to do one or the other but as soon as I switch off the laptop or printer it its an effort to get it to connect reliably again.  I am frustrated and annoyed, I never had this issue with my previous HP printer and while I am reluctant to return the printer I am running out of patience and options!  Any thoughts?

Welcome to the HP English Community --

True, initial connections with the printer dislike VPN.

This printer does include different firmware than older models and a bit of additional built-in security -- I do not have any idea whether (or how) the printer would respond in a VPN network situation even assuming the initial connection is made with the VPN shut off (as is necessary).

Personally, I cannot speak for using the printer with VPN or with a Mesh Network.

If you have already discussed this with other HP Experts, then the subject has likely been covered.

HP Support might have information we lack, though VPN is perhaps considered outside of the "norm".

Using the printer in this kind of environment might not be included with the two week (after purchase) setup help included in the purchase.

What to do?

If the printer is still in the Return Window for product return, contact the store where you purchased the printer.

OR

If the return windows is closed and the product is in-Warranty, contact HP Support and submit a Warranty repair request.
