my laserjet 1200  printer is not working on my windows 10 64bit

Hello,

Let me get a bit more detail before I tell you the best path — the LaserJet 1200 is an older model and Windows 10 x64 does not include a dedicated HP driver anymore, so whether it works depends on how it’s connected and which fallback driver Windows loads.

I need the following so I can narrow it down properly:

  1. How are you connecting the LaserJet 1200 to the PC?

    • USB-to-USB cable

    • USB-to-Parallel adapter

    • Network print server

    • Something else?

  2. When you plug it in, does Windows detect anything at all?

    • Does it appear under “Printers & Scanners”?

    • Or does it show as “Unknown device”?

  3. Has this printer worked on this same PC before, or is this the first time on Windows 10?

  4. Any error code or message when you try to print or add the printer?
