I can not sign on to my printer online interface to access admin tools. I lost my password information. Can I get my printer reset by HP?  What do I do to set up a new password.  I am the administrator.

@CreativeEd, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Printer Admin issue!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you have lost the password to access the admin interface of your HP printer, you generally have the option to reset the printer to its factory defaults. This process will typically remove any custom settings, including network configurations, and you can set up the printer anew, including creating a new password for the admin interface.

Here is a general guideline for resetting the printer:

Check the User Manual: First, refer to your printer's user manual for specific instructions on resetting your model to factory settings.

Factory Reset Procedure:

  • Access the printer's physical control panel, and look for options related to "Settings" or "Tools."
  • Navigate to whichever menu option pertains to "Restore Factory Settings" or "Reset All Settings," and follow the prompts.

Set a New Password: Once reset is complete:

  • Set up your printer from scratch, re-establishing connections to your network, and apply a new password when prompted during the setup.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
