Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I understand the printer lost scanning functionality after Windows 11 update, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • What are the troubleshooting steps you have tried so far?
  • Are you able to scan from the printer scanner bed?

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thanks for your reply but I think I've tried everything you mentioned.

The scan doctor says there is no problem although it took a while to work out how to get it to acknowledge the change to Windows 11.

I've reloaded the HP Smart several times (even deleting the original) which is where the link you have given takes me. Is this what you call the 'basic printer driver'?

Problems -

I can now only save as jpeg or basic .pdf.

Shouldn't I be able to do OCR?

Hi

I've done all that and it's working the same as before.  I did ask whether I should be able to save editable text (OCR). Checking online it looks as though I can't so maybe it is something I did on my previous printer.

I've just stumbled across the editing options. I'm not finding this printer as intuitive to use as my previous HP.

Thanks for your help

Stuart
