Hi @Steddyone ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code 0x6100004b on an HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 indicates a hardware issue with the printer. Here are steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
  • Wait for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.

Check for Obstructions:

  • Make sure there are no obstructions or foreign objects in the paper path or inside the printer.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Wait for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP support website. If there are updates, follow the instructions to install them.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the printer cover and check for any paper jams. Remove any jammed paper carefully.

Inspect Cartridges:

  • Make sure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink. You might want to try reseating the cartridges.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP website. This tool can automatically diagnose and fix printing problems.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
