Hi @ksh329,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your printer suddenly appears to be disconnected from your work computer. You can follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Check Physical Connections: Ensure all cables between your printer and computer are securely connected. If you are using a USB connection, try disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable. For network printers, verify that the Ethernet cable is properly connected.

Restart the Printer and Computer: Turn off both your printer and computer. Wait for about 30 seconds, then turn them back on and see if the connection is restored.

Check Wireless Connection: If your printer is connected wirelessly, make sure it's connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. You may need to reconnect the printer to the network, especially if there have been changes to the network settings or password.

Update Printer Drivers: Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can cause connectivity issues. Visit the Official HP® Support to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.

Run the Printer Troubleshooter: On your computer, you can run the built-in printer troubleshooter. For Windows, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, select your printer, and click on "Troubleshoot". For macOS, use the printer's utility software or access the options through System Preferences.

Check Network Configuration: Ensure that the printer and the computer are on the same network. If your network uses different subnets, the printer might not be able to communicate with your computer. DHCP settings should allow both devices to be in the same addressing space.

Firewall and Security Settings: Check your computer's firewall and security software settings to ensure that they are not blocking the printer connection. You may need to create an exception for the printer in your firewall settings.

Reinstall the Printer: As a last resort, try removing the printer from your computer's list of devices, and then reinstall it. This can often resolve any configuration issues that may have arisen.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
