I have called help support line 4 times (I have tried 2 different numbers) and when they go to transfer me to a person, I get disconnected.   I have getting very frustrated.   It seems that my HP printer is not compatible with the Mac Ventura and I was hoping they could send me a driver so that I could print.  It prints fine from my Mac laptop.  Anyone, know how to actually get a hold of HP and talk to a person??  Otherwise I am going to have to go buy new printer, but I will not want to buy one where there is no support.

thanks for any help.

Hi @GinnyDance,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Deskjet 3054 printer is not printing from your new iMac, there could be several reasons for this issue. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the problem.

Check Printer Connections:

  • Ensure that your HP Deskjet 3054 is properly connected to your iMac. Make sure the USB or wireless connection is secure.

Printer Power and Status:

  • Make sure the printer is turned on and not displaying any error messages or warning lights. If there are issues with the printer, resolve them first.

Printer Driver Installation:

  • Ensure that you have installed the correct printer driver for your HP Deskjet 3054 on your new iMac. You may need to download and install the latest driver from the HP website if you haven't already.

Printer Queue:

  • Check the printer queue on your iMac to ensure there are no pending print jobs that might be stuck. You can do this by going to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners" > select your printer > "Open Print Queue."

Restart Printer and Computer:

  • Try restarting both your HP Deskjet 3054 printer and your iMac. Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve communication issues.

USB Cable or Wireless Connection:

  • If you're using a USB connection, try a different USB cable or USB port on your iMac.
  • If you're using a wireless connection, ensure that your iMac is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your printer. Check for any Wi-Fi connectivity issues.

Check for Software Conflicts:

  • Ensure that there are no conflicting software or applications that might be preventing your iMac from communicating with the printer.

Print a Test Page:

  • Go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners."
  • Select your HP Deskjet 3054 printer.
  • Click the "Print Test Page" button to see if the printer responds.

Update macOS:

  • Make sure your iMac is running the latest version of macOS. Outdated operating systems can sometimes have compatibility issues with printers.

Firewall and Security Software:

  • Check your iMac's firewall settings and any security software that might be blocking the printer's communication.

Printer Defaults:

  • Ensure that the printer is set as the default printer on your iMac. You can do this in "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners" and select your printer, then click the "Set Default Printer" button.

Reset Printing System (as a last resort):

  • In "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners," right-click in the list of printers and select "Reset Printing System." Be cautious with this step, as it removes all printers from your system, and you'll need to re-add them.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

What I need is the driver.  I can not find it anywhere on the HP website.  How the heck do I get the help?? Or do I go buy a new Epson?

I am frustrated as it has been over a month and I can not print.   I know the issue is I need to download the driver but I need HP to send it to me, because it is not on their website.   It is HP Deskjet 3054.

Help please,

Ginny

The drivers online do not work with the most current MAC OS.  I am on version Ventura 13.5.2

Is there a driver available?

Is there a phone number to call to get quicker answers?

Hi Alden4.

The link you sent me does not work.  It says "bad request".  I have tried multiple times to contact HP support with out success. That is why I reached out here.  I have already gone out and purchased a new Epson printer.   I have been over a month without a working printer and I am trying to work.  Everytime I call, I get disconnected when transferred to a real person. The online support could not give me what I needed.
