HP Officejet 4630

I have no idea what I did to cause the problem but my printer will not go to sleep.  It is set to sleep after 5 minutes of inactivity but never turns off.  I also have no idea where else to look to solve my problem.  The menu is so bright at night it lights up the whole room.  Any help would be appreciated :womanvery-happy:  Thanks!!!

@Lips13

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Officejet 4630 Printer. I understand that your printer do not go to sleep mode and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well.

Perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 10 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware.

Click here and refer the document to update the firmware.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers.
