Hi @Cherokeelittle

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand you're trying to print a 5x7 photo with your new HP printer and are not quite sure where to start. We'd be glad to help.

To better understand the situation, could you share:

  • The HP printer model you have
  • The device you're printing from (Windows PC, Mac, iPhone, Android, etc.)
  • Whether you're printing a photo, invitation, card, or another type of document
  • Any steps you've already tried
  • Are you loading 5x7 photo paper into the printer, or trying to print a 5x7 image on a larger sheet?

In the meantime, here are a few basic checks that may help:

  • Ensure the paper being used is the correct 5x7 size and is loaded properly in the input tray.
  • Verify that the paper guides are gently adjusted to fit the paper size.
  • When opening the print dialog, look for a Paper Size or Media Size setting and check whether 5x7 (127 x 178 mm) is available.
  • If you're printing a photo, try selecting a Photo or Borderless Photo option if your printer supports it.
  • Confirm the printer is connected and showing as Ready before sending the print job.

Once you share the printer model and a few more details about what you're trying to print, we can provide more specific guidance for your HP printer.

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
