My 9720e will not let me connect to a home page it either alerts me to go to the P website or currently it is showing preparing . Also because no home page I cannot connect it to a wifi network. Can I reboot it?

Yes, you can try rebooting your HP OfficeJet Pro 9720e printer by performing a hard reset, which might help resolve the issue where it's stuck on "Preparing." Here's how you can do it.

 

Steps for Hard Reset:

  1. Power off the printer by unplugging it directly from the power source (without using the power button).
  2. Wait for about 60 seconds to let any residual power drain from the printer.
  3. Plug the printer back in to the power outlet.
  4. Turn the printer on using the power button if it does not turn on automatically.


This reset can often resolve issues like being stuck on "Preparing" and may allow you to reconnect to WiFi once the printer restarts.

 

If the issue persists and you're still unable to access the printer's homepage, a factory reset might be necessary. However, note that this will restore all settings to factory defaults.
