Con_Tom,
I'm sorry you were given that last bit of extremely poor advice. There have been posts above just like yours by others who had the same issue, followed by step-by-step posts (usually from Bob) of how to update that list of printers shown to you.

Bob, Your solution to the HP 1115 Printer driver using the Desk Jet 970cse works. I have been looking for a soluton for some time. My inks have dried up, any suggestens on bringing them back to life?

Yes. Rest their bottoms on a wet paper-towel for up to a couple hours. WARNING: The ink will flow thru the towel, so make sure you have something disposable like corigated cardboard or plastic under the paper towel.
If that doesn't work, wet two paper towels, and seal them into a container with the cart's for a day. The moisture from the towels will work it's way into everything else inside the container, including (hopefully) the ink jets themselves.
Of course, shake them first to make sure you can hear and/or feel the liquid ink swishing around inside them.
Good luck, and God bless,
-Matt

This worked! THANK YOU!
Photosmart 8200 driver worked for my Photosmart 1115 printer as did the Deskjet 970 driver.
IMPORTANT: Instead of using LPT 1 Printer Port, use DOT4_001 Generic IEEE port.
ALSO: While installing the driver, If you dont see 8200 or 970 drivers in the Windows 7 default list, then click on "Windows Update" to download additional drivers.
