Microsoft Windows Vista

I need a software CD-Rom for an HP 2755e printer so I can use it with my Windows Vista 64 bit desktop computer. I am unable to go on the HP help and support website. All I get when I try to go on that site is a blank page. Is there any help or do I throw the printer in the trash? It's useless without any operating software.

Hi @BuzynskiNo1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the frustration with not being able to access the software you need. Unfortunately, HP no longer provides software on CD-ROMs for most of their newer printers, including the HP 2755e. Instead, they typically offer downloads directly from their website.

Since you're having trouble accessing the HP website, here are a few alternatives you might consider.

  • Download Software on Another Computer: If possible, try to download the printer software from the HP website using a different computer with internet access. Once downloaded, you can transfer the installation file to your Windows Vista desktop via a USB drive.
  • Use the Basic Driver: Windows Vista may already have a basic driver for the HP 2755e that allows basic printing functionality. Check your printer settings and add the printer through the "Printers and Faxes" section in the Control Panel to see if it's recognized.
  • Check for Software on a Secondary Source: Some third-party websites offer driver downloads for older printers. Ensure any site you use is reputable and safe.
  • Consider a New Printer: If the above options don’t work and the printer remains unusable, it might be worth considering a new printer compatible with your system or that supports modern operating systems.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
