I installed the HP PCL6 universal driver and that did not give the ability to change print density.

Perhaps this is your current driver:

HP UPD - HP Universal Print Driver (UPD) supported printers

The Universal Print Driver has three Page Description Language options including PCL6, PCL5, and PostScript-emulation (PS).

The driver provides access to Printing Preferences

It's possible to change the Paper / Quality "density" in two settings:

  • Normal
  • Maximum dpi

-- What else? --

HP Smart Universal Printing Driver supports a different interface and might be better for your needs.

Said another way,

The settings in HP Smart Universal Printing might be more in line of what you are seeking.

I don't see your printer listed as supported -- it might be worth trying anyway -- my own printer is not in the list and the software installs and works as expected.  ??

The full driver printing software is not listed in the Software and Drivers webpage  Windows 11 but the package itself shows that the installation is supported in Windows 11.

This is the traditional "full solution" software for your printer.

Read the "Description" at the bottom of the webpage.

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.
