My hp windows 10 computer crashed. Hp helped me do a complete restore to new factory settings.
Before the crash my computer and my hp printer j4580 worked fine together.
Now I can't get the drivers to even download from the official hp website and install on my computer (the one they were on before the crash).
Any help is appreciated.
The tech support just wanted me to buy a new printer. Not a solution, just a ploy to try to get me to buy a new printer.
Thank you for your assistance.

Hello @CYNTHIAZILLION – Greetings!
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel.
I see that you are having issues while installing your printer over Windows 10. Try the steps below to install your printer.
- Unplug the USB cable from the printer and computer if present.
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP all Envy printer entries and uninstall them.
- Restart your computer.
- Now click http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL31046/mp-109152-2/OJ_AIO_J4500_Full_Win_WW_140_404-4.exe to download and install the printer drivers.
- Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Let me know how that goes. I’ll watch for your reply!
Cheers 🙂
