I read someone else asked his question because he had the same problem saying that it said it was disabled from us trying to adjust the auto off options in power management. He never did get an answer for his question he search the other community posts. I was wondering if anyone else figured this out yet. The whole point of having it for me is to print things from another room and it’s always off and I have to go in there and turn it on and connect it back again every single time I use it. Not sure why it needs to be wireless at that point.

Any solutions?

I have the exact same complaint.  I want my printer to be on always!  It looks to me like this is a default setting that used to be adjustable, but HP has now made it permanent.  I wonder if you could plug in a old network hub to keep it on (and no IP config on that interface), but still have Wifi address active?  This is what I see in the Web Config portal of my HP 6400:

The printer will automatically turn off after a period of inactivity to help reduce energy use. This feature is automatically disabled when the printer is connected to a computer or mobile device, a network, or a fax line (if supported).

Auto-Off turns the printer off completely, so you must use the power button to turn the printer back on.

note
  1. The Auto-Off setting is preset and cannot be configured.
