Need help setting up printer without startup cartridges

Have had a new printer for a while but never set it up. Just come to install it but can't find the setup cartridges. Is there a way to install the software without them?

Hi. No, I definitely do not have the setup cartridges. Is there a way to set the printer up without them?

Thank you for your reply.

I will be sending you instructions on how to do a reset so you can use the printer without the setup cartridges via private message. 

Note that this works only for specific printers, and performing the steps on other printers can brick the unit.
