Since purchasing this printer two years ago, I have been plagued with a high pitched noise problem when printer is printing . The noise is like a continuous whistle and does not occur while idle; only when printing. Very annoying. I have tried all of the logical solutions like reboots, delete printer, reinstalls, new drivers, etc. Changed wireless networks, direct printing, yata, yata. Help or ear muffs are needed.

The printer produces sounds when in use, there is a lot of rotating parts. Since the annoying sound is not present when the printer is idle we can rule out the electromagnetic sounds coming from the power supplies or electronics.

The following parts that can cause squeaky sounds in order of possibility are toners, fuser and transfer belt.

When you turn the printer ON without toners does it rotate and engages the mechanism and is the sound present without toner cartridges?
