I am on Macbook Pro running OS Bigsur 11.X and is my work system. Hence no Apple ID exists or is allowed on this work system. The Mac app store requires Apple ID to download any software. Is it possible to download "HP Smart for Desktop" without Apple ID?
Thanks,
Venky.

Hi @venky21,
I'd like to help!
Yes, you would need an Apple ID to download the HP Smart from the app store
May I have the exact model name of the product? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.
Keep me posted.

The printer model is: HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 Series
My Macbook Pro is a work laptop issued by my company and hence cannot and does not have an Apple ID setup. Therefore, I need the HP SmartApp software to be downloadable/installable without an Apple ID.

Download and install the HP Easy Start (under the Software and Utility tab ) to set up the printer without Apple ID.
Hope this helps!
Keep me posted!

Unfortunately, I do not see the HP Easy Start in the Software tab. There is no Utility tab either. I did see other driver and firmware update under Software tab though. Could you please give the exact download location link to either HP Easy Start or HP Smart app?

Try and add the AirPrint printer to the Mac printer queue
Add the Air Print printer to the Mac printer queue
Confirm you are using Air Print by adding the printer in System Preferences.
- Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
- Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, and then do one of the following steps.
- If your printer is listed, remove and re-add the printer to confirm it is set up for Air Print. Click the printer name, click the minus sign "-" to delete the printer, click the plus sign "+"click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name and then continue to the next step.
- If your printer is not listed, click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer, and then continue to the next step.
- Confirm Air Print or Secure Air Print displays in the Use or Print Using menu, and then click Add.
- Open a document or photo, click File, and then click Print.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
