HP DeskJet 3637 All-in-One Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

Hi,

I forgot the admin password I've set on my printer and need some help resetting it.

I tried a few different ways of resetting but none of them worked, even though my settings are gone the admin password remains. Based on some older posts, such as https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Setup-Software-Drivers/Deskjet-3630-admin-password-factory-res... it seems like I need to NVRAM reset my printer. It also seems that because these reset instructions are specific per printer and performing them on a different printer may corrupt the device this info is not publicly available.

Can I please get a DM with the instructions?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, can someone help me with this?

Please note that I need to reset the admin password, not the Wi-Fi Direct password. I've setup an admin password but forgot it, so now I'm unable to make any changes on the EWS page as it asks for that password.

Hi @PauloCezar

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing issues with EWS password on your HP Printer.

If you are prompted for additional credentials when accessing the printer homepage, check for a PIN on the printer UPC sticker or contact the printer administrator for the password.

1. On the credential prompt, enter admin (default) for the username.

2. Locate the PIN on the printer UPC sticker found on either the back of the printer or inside the cartridge access area, and then enter it.

3.If a PIN is not listed on the sticker or the sticker is missing, contact the printer administrator for the PIN or password.

You can find the above steps below "Frequently asked questions (FAQs)" under "Where can I find the EWS username and password or PIN?" on this link.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
