I got this printer from my mom. She never really set it up. I brought it to my apartment. I would like to reset it to start fresh. I noticed some bugs like it will search for updates and freeze like that and I am unable to power it off unless I unplug it. I also cannot access web services to update or anything. I just want to restart.

There is no factory reset function other than unplugging the power.
Page 55 of the users manual shows the modem/router setup

I apologies for that video as the author did not actually setup the network. I saw the "network setup" show up but it was not run.
You need to know the SSID and password for the router. The printer only supports the 2.4ghz band.
Usually there is a different SSID for the 5 and 2.4 band but that is up to the manager or whoever was hired to setup the network.
Select the network setup wizard and look for the name you were given. It it shows up it will be 2.4 obviously.
from page 55
1. Write down your network name (SSID) and WEP key or WPA passphrase.
2. Start Wireless Setup Wizard.
a. From the Home screen, touch the Wireless icon, and then touch Settings.
b. Touch Wireless Setup Wizard.
3. Connect to wireless network.
● Select your network from the list of detected networks.
4. Follow prompts
I do not have that printer and was unable to find a video that shows the exact steps needed.
If there is a problem you will have to make a note here or post a picture of the display.
If you try the Wi-Fi direct then both your laptop, phone and printer need to be on the 2.4ghz band
Direct is explained very briefly on page 57
What they fail to mention is that some smartphone you cannot select 2.4ghz. My iPhone only selects the 5ghz band and if I need to setup a Wi-Fi camera (for example), I need to disable 5ghz in my modem to force my iPhone to go to 2.4ghz.
If you try to print directly from your smartphone to the printer the smartphone needs to be on the 2.4ghz band.
Same for laptop.
Try to get the printer on the router so all device can work.
