HP needs to get this fixed if they expect any corporate business satisfaction with the HP Smart application. We have 16 HP printers in the building and there is no way to change the model name to something you can recognize on the opening page of the HP Smart App. People will not accept the fact that they have to open the properties to determine if the correct printer has been selected. They are also concerned that they could accidentally send a print job to a non-secure area of the office.

 

HP Smart assigns by default a name to printers, which coincides with the printer's series or model. This name cannot be changed. Even if the name is changed in Windows, HP Smart doesn't get the name from Windows. The only way of recognizing them is to open the printers' settings and check their serial number, which is very unpractical. 

 

I am just amazed that HP would release a product like this to the public. The software developers must not use more than one printer.
