For Christmas I recd a software 'enhancement' piece which I attempted to install on my computer.  Suffice it to say,  it was worthless and messed up my computer and system restore has been done.  Today I can't print anything.  I did some troubleshooting, but no luck.    Then I got my folder for the printer where I keep EVERYTHING, and tried to install the printer using the disk, but eventually got a message asking for a code and it would either be on the computer or in my documents.  There is NOTHING in this paperwork that identifies it as being such a  number. I looked on the bottom of the printer, and it's

not there; also looked in the area where the cartridges are, but no luck.  Then I tried using the 123.hp.com feature to try to get software downloaded.  During the download, I got a message saying NET Framework 4.6 is needed and instructed me to download it, and I did.  The download took, but the install portion has been at perhaps 10-15% for over 30 minutes.  I can't open the HP file till the install is done.   Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hi! @Viviangel1, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand you have issues installing the printer software on your PC. And you are getting an error to install the .net framework on your PC.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Are you the administrator of the PC?

Excellent description and a great diagnosis done. It is greatly appreciated.

Download and install the .net framework offline installer on your PC and check if it helps.

Download the Microsoft .net framework using this link. Click Here

Aso, Please try few steps recommended below.

First, uninstall the printer software from the root level and give permissions for the program files folder.

In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
Select your HP printer.
Select Uninstall.
In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
Click on Drivers tab.
Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.
Select OK.
Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
Close Devices and Printers.

Press the "Windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open -

Type C:\ProgramData hit ok
Right-click on the program data folder and select "Properties"
Go to the Security tab, and select "Users" from the group or usernames
Click "Edit"
Select Users, then check the box by "Full Control"
Click "Apply"
You may get a whole bunch of error messages about inheritance, just hold down the Enter key until they all go away.
Click "Cancel" a couple of times to dismiss the properties boxes
Go forth and print from any application and check.

After you give the permissions install the full feature printer software.
