Hello HP Community,

our HP printer stopped working yesterday.

Today I checked some things and it looks like the NIC of the printer is broken. I tried using another port on the patchpanel, switch and wall. The light on the port stood on a sold orange light. With a Laptop the network access from the printer Ethernet cable worked fine.

Are there any other steps I could do to fix this issue?

If it's really the NIC, is there a way to replace it?

Thank you for your time!

Hi @PLUSpoint

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

To help you accurately and avoid general steps, could you please confirm the exact model number of your HP printer? You can usually find it:

  • On the front or top panel of the printer (e.g., HP LaserJet Pro M404dn, HP OfficeJet 9025e)
  • On a label at the back or bottom of the device
  • Printed on a network configuration or status report page

Once I have the model, I can guide you precisely on whether the NIC is integrated or modular, and what diagnostic or replacement options are available.

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,
