HP ENVY 5030 All-in-One Printer

Apple advise me that some hardware on my HP ENVY 5030 will not be compatible with their next upgrade 28.0 on Silcon. Will HP be supplying any upgrades or will I require a new printer compatible with Silicon?

Hi @rayzablade8

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for reaching out. We understand your concern about future macOS 28.0 compatibility with Apple Silicon and your HP ENVY 5030 All-in-One Printer.

At this time, HP has not announced any end of support or compatibility changes for the HP ENVY 5030 related to macOS 28.0. Since the operating system has not yet been broadly released, final compatibility information and driver support details may still be under evaluation.

The HP ENVY 5030 is designed to work with Apple Silicon Macs using HP software and Apple's printing framework. In many cases, printer functionality continues through updated HP and macOS drivers delivered after a new operating system release.

For now, we recommend:

  1. Keep your HP App updated on your Mac.
  2. Install all available macOS and printer software updates when they become available.
  3. Monitor HP support resources for any compatibility announcements related to macOS 28.0 and the ENVY 5030.
  4. If you plan to upgrade immediately after release, consider verifying printer functionality before removing your current macOS installation.

Based on the information currently available, there is no indication that you need to replace your HP ENVY 5030. Future software updates will determine the final level of support and compatibility once macOS 28.0 becomes publicly available.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
