I've just downloaded and installed the new HP App to replace HP Smart on my PC for my All-in-One printer and my first impression of it is that it's awful! It's very slow to launch - maybe 3-4 times slower than its HP Smart predecessor, and actions within the app seem correspondingly slow. The panels on the printer page are way to big forcing me to scroll down, when it should be perfectly easy to make them all visible on a single page - and not a full screen page - and there's no ability that I've found to shrink it onto the window. Why is 'Never run out of ink' in prime position when it adds nothing to the user experience -it's an add which is totally redundant if you already have a printer that relies on Instant Ink.
To me, this is yet another example of an application being developed to show how clever the developers can be, without properly considering how users are really going to use it day to day. I don't have any option about using it or not, but it's style over substance in my view. I'm unimpressed!

Hello @JerryHone, Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for taking the time to provide detailed feedback about the new HP App. We understand that the slower launch time, larger interface panels, additional scrolling, and overall experience are significant changes compared with HP Smart. We will take your feedback into consideration and pass it along to the relevant team.
Regarding the HP App running slowly, there can be several contributing factors. Please try the following:
Remove the older HP Smart app
- If both HP Smart and the new HP App are currently installed on the PC, we recommend uninstalling the older HP Smart application and keeping only the new HP App.
- Restart the computer afterward and check the HP App performance again.
Test the HP App on another device
- If possible, install the HP App on another compatible computer or device and add the HP Officejet Pro 9025.
- If the HP App performs normally on the second device, this helps isolate the issue to the original computer rather than the printer or HP App service.
Consider the computer's performance
- The new HP App integrates several printer-management and account-related features into one application. On an older computer or a system with limited available resources, the application may take longer to initialize and load these components.
- Closing unnecessary programs before opening the HP App may help determine whether system resources are contributing to the delay.
Keep the HP App and Windows updated
- Check the Microsoft Store for HP App updates.
- Install any pending Windows updates and restart the computer before testing again.
We appreciate the specific feedback regarding the “Never run out of ink” section, window sizing, oversized panels, scrolling, and slower responsiveness. Feedback describing how the application affects everyday printer use is valuable, and we will ensure these comments are shared with the appropriate team for consideration.
Have a great day!
I'm an HP Employee.
