I just purchased a new HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 and went through the setup. Everything seemed to work just fine but when I get into HP Smart, it tells me my printer is offline and must be turned on to connect to HP Smart. I have verified that my printer is properly connected to my internet and has connection. When I choose "Scan to Computer" on the control panel of the Printer/Scanner unit, it tells me it is not connected to a computer. However, I am able to print just fine so clearly there is a working connection.

I also uninstalled the software and reinstalled everything. When I get to the last step of Easy Setup, it tells me "Connection to the Internet was not found or has been lost. Please check the connection and then click Retry." I confirmed the printer and my computer are connected to the same internet connection and hit Retry but keep getting the no connection error message.

@Logan_ThirdIV, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Scan to computer feature requires the full-feature printer driver to be installed on the computer.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue
Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.
If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.
Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.
Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.
Try printing and scanning.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
