HP ENVY Inspire 7220e All-in-One Printer

Cannot print from my Macbook to my newly purchased HP Envy Inspire 7200e printer. After logging on to a HP website I'm informed that I have a driver missing. The internet blue light on the printer panel is a steady blue but when I try to print a document nothing happens although my computer indicates that my request has been sent the printer screen does not light up and when I check the printer queue no print job is indicated. Have tried the HP chat line and a technician wants to remotely take control of my computer which I'm not happy with so I terminated the call. Is it possible to correct this fault? myself.

Hi @ray15089,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Yes, it's possible to troubleshoot and resolve this issue yourself. Here are some steps you can take.

Verify Printer Connectivity:

  • Ensure that your HP Envy Inspire 7200e printer is properly connected to your Macbook and that both devices are on the same network.
  • Check if the printer's display panel shows any error messages or if it indicates that it's ready to print.

Install the Printer Driver:

  • Since you mentioned a missing driver, visit the HP Support website specific to your printer model.
  • Download and install the latest driver for macOS. Sometimes, printers require specific drivers to communicate properly with Mac computers.

Check Printer Queue:

  • Open the Print Queue on your Mac to see if there are any stuck print jobs. If there are, try cancelling them and then resend a print job to see if it goes through.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your printer and your Macbook. This can sometimes resolve communication issues between the devices.

Update macOS:

  • Ensure that your macOS is up to date. Sometimes, system updates include fixes for printer connectivity issues.

Reset Printing System (if needed):

  • As a last resort, you can reset the printing system on your Mac. This will remove all printers and scanners from your list, so you'll need to add them again afterwards.
    • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
    • Right-click (or Ctrl+click) on the list of printers on the left and choose "Reset printing system."
    • After resetting, add your HP Envy Inspire 7200e printer again and try printing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
