HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer

I am a teacher and my school issued me a HP ENVY Photo 7855 Printer. The teacher who had it before me connected it to her Instant Ink account. I would like to disconnect her account, and connect it to mine. How do I do this?

Hi @Kate285,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are looking for help with connecting the printer to a new instant ink account.

To disconnect the previous teacher's Instant Ink account and connect your HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer to your own Instant Ink account, follow these steps:

Cancel the Previous Account:

  • Go to the HP Instant Ink website.
  • Log in with the previous teacher's account credentials (if you have them). If not, you'll need to contact HP Support to help disconnect the printer from the previous account.

Remove the Printer from the Previous Account:

  • Once logged in, navigate to the account settings or printer management section.
  • Find the printer in the list of devices and remove or deregister it from the account. This step is crucial to ensure that the printer can be added to a new account.

Reset the Printer (Optional but recommended):

  • Sometimes, it's helpful to reset the printer to clear any previous settings. To do this, go to the printer’s control panel:
    • On the printer, go to the Setup menu.
    • Navigate to Printer Maintenance or Tools.
    • Select Restore Defaults or a similar option.
  • Confirm the reset and wait for the printer to restart.

Set Up Your HP Instant Ink Account:

  • If you don’t already have an HP Instant Ink account, sign up at the HP Instant Ink website.
  • Follow the prompts to set up your account and select a plan.

Connect the Printer to Your Instant Ink Account:

  • Make sure your printer is connected to the internet.
  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup and then HP Connected.
  • Select Sign In and enter your HP Instant Ink account credentials.
  • Follow the prompts to complete the connection process.

Add the Printer to Your Instant Ink Account:

  • Go back to the HP Instant Ink website.
  • Log in with your new account credentials.
  • Follow the instructions to add your printer. You may need the printer’s serial number, which can be found on the printer itself.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
