Printer gives the error message"printer attention required"

If your Lenovo laptop cannot print wirelessly to your HP Officejet 4630 and you're receiving the "printer attention required" message, you can follow these troubleshooting steps:

Basic Troubleshooting Steps

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is powered on and connected to the same wireless network as your laptop.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off your printer and laptop, then turn them back on to reset the network connections.

Update Printer Software:

  • Make sure you have the latest software and drivers installed for your HP Officejet 4630. You can download these from the HP support website.

Run HP Smart:

Check Wireless Setup:

  • Ensure wireless direct is enabled if not using a router. From the printer, select Wireless Direct from the home screen, and confirm it's turned on.

Printer Configuration:

  • Access the printer settings screen to ensure it is properly configured to print wirelessly. You may try using the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer control panel:
    • Press the Wireless button, select Settings, then choose Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the instructions.

Error Message Resolution

Evaluate the Error Message:

  • Read any messages on your printer’s display to further understand what requires attention, such as low ink or paper jams.

Check Ink and Paper:

  • Ensure that the printer's ink cartridges are installed correctly and that there is sufficient paper loaded in the tray.
