My new printer will not scan to a network folder. It will scan to an email though, but not to any network folder. I called HP support and spent the better part of an hour on the phone and screen share with the young lady. She went through all my set up with no luck. The end of the conversation was that she felt it was a Microsoft interface issue. My computer is new and has all the updates, it is connected with a network cable. I have uninstalled the reinstalled the HP software with no luck. Hoping some guru at HP can come up with a solution, I really need this function.

Easiest way to setup scan to folder is to use the embedded web server and not the software. Windows 11 can sometimes be weird. If you setup your computer using a Microsoft Account as your user name I find that this often leads to issues with authentication. Easiest way around that is to create a secondary user with basic rights but access to the shared folder that you wish to scan to and use that set of credentials in the scan to folder authentication settings.

Thanks for the reply and suggestion. Pardon my ignorance but I am in the HP Embedded Web Server and have tried the Quick Set to access the folders but I obviously am doing something wrong. You suggested that I use the embedded web servers, is this not the one to use? Also, to set up a secondary user, is that something that is done outside of Microsoft?

Thanks for your time

Page 34 of the user guide discusses setting up scan to folder. I suggested the alternate user only if you have problems using your standard login credentials.
