@MandyH1961, Thanks for the update — I hear you, and I know how frustrating this can be.
Right now, the HP LaserJet P1005 doesn’t have updated drivers for macOS Sequoia 15.3, which is why it's not working directly with your new Mac. You're not alone — many users are facing this with older printers.
Your current workaround using the older Mac is smart and likely the most reliable option for now. As an alternative, you could try adding the printer using a generic driver through CUPS (macOS's built-in print system), but results may vary.
We really appreciate your patience, and I’ve shared this feedback with our team. Let us know if you'd like help trying the CUPS method!

Solution not viable for same issue with Mac OS 15.4.1 update which changed the access to my 2 HP printers a HP LaserJet 4250 and a HP LaserJet Pro 200 color. Neither can find the 2 printers that were connected BEFORE the update to OS 15.4.1. On an Ethernet network with a router that works. Printers work and are connected. Spent hours with Apple and network router people adding, deleting, looking for printers. Verified connections. Issue is between HP and New Mac OS, but HP is unavailable to deal with the issue. So her I am. I did load up HP Smart app which could find one of the printers but could not find the other. Whereas Apple could add one of the printers but not the other. The printer Apple could add, (the 4250,) HP Smart app could not connect with. (error messages) The printer HP Smart App could find and set up, (the 200,) Apple could not find or Add to system.
Should I consider Uninstalling HP Smart app to allow Apple only to connect with the printers?

Kuroi,
Thanks for the message to go private with my problem. However, I could not follow your instructions, after my records showed the SN model# and such of both printers involved. I believe they are both out of warranty. I reached a dead end. Nothing happened to help I have not already seen or tried.
So I am back to being desperate to solve this printer not found issue. No offense, but HP has not helped in any manner. What does it take to connect with someone in HP to address this issue? I have done a lot of research and have considerable more information to share to find a solution, but no one to discuss it with.
