New Printer Problems: Duplex Printing & Default Paper Setting

I just bought a new printer today and installed the printer software on my husband's Mac computer (OS 10.11.6) and every thing works fine.

I installed it on my Mac (OS 10.11), but there are problems. 

1) On my 8600, I used to be able to print a one page document and choose two-sided printing. I don't seem to be able to do that on the 8710. Two-sided works fine when I have more than one page. Is it possible to print one page back to back with the 8710? 

2) Also, Index Card Letter 8.5 x 11 is set to default as the page setup option for some reason when I open my previously created documents. I've gone into System Preferences to chanege it to letter,  but it still defaults to Index Card letter.

I reinstalled the driver and updated the firmware. Stil, the above are not working correctly.

Hi,

You cannot send a duplex print with a single page document, a such will only work with a multipage document from eitehr Windows or a Mac.

From the print dialog change the paper size as required, then press the Presets menu and save the settings as a preset.

Once completing a print job from a preset it will remain default till another preset will be used..
