My new W11 Laptop does not display Word DOCs in the HP SMART App if I select to print files and navigate to my private folder.  I sent the file required to my Android and printed from my phone so there is nothing wrong with the printer.  Seems I need to update the laptop but where?  I installed HP Smart the day I received the printer and added my printer via the IP Address.      Is it a Microsoft issue?

Forgot to say that files printed from an old Windows10 machine connected on the same WIFI or using my Android phone to print works on exactly the same file if transferred to the other machines.

It's likely you had the full driver printer software installed on your previous / other Windows system.

In general, have you not previously downloaded the Web Pack used to install the printer software, you can find it at HP for supported versions of Windows and a supported printer:

The "Real Deal"

123.hp.com - Printer setup from the HP® Official site

https://123.hp.com/

Be very careful when out on the Internet looking for help - one little dot, space, or letter out of place can land you in trouble.

The official HP 123 site is where you can find the appropriate (and free) software and drivers for your printer.

There are many  fake and scam sites listed (in search engines) for “123” – please make sure you are using the actual “HP” site.

If you are asked for money to correct "issues" on your printer or computer OR if the “help” wants to sell you software, threatens you, or wants access to your computer, you are using a “fake” site. Do not give these people your information!

What else?

Open the Product Home page for your printer

Open Category Software & Drivers

If needful, change the Operating System / version

Look for a full driver / full solution software you want to install...

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.
