I purchased a new computer running Windows 11. I have been using an HP LaserJet 1022 printer through USB port successfully on the prior computer. I attached the new computer to the printer, and it "finds" the printer, but the printer will not print. I have unplugged the USB cable, uninstalled the printer and restarted the computer. Reinstalled the printer. Still not printing. Checked services, the print spooler is running. Can anyone help?

Hi @WearsManyHats,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
1. Verify Connections
- Ensure that the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
- Try connecting the printer to a different USB port on the computer.
2. Install the Printer Software
- Download the latest HP LaserJet 1022 printer driver from the HP Support Website. Ensure you select Windows 11 as the operating system.
- Install the printer software and drivers following the on-screen instructions.
3. Check Printer Settings
- Open "Control Panel" on your computer:
- Click Start and then Control Panel.
- Select "Devices and Printers."
- Check if your HP LaserJet 1022 printer is set as the default printer:
- Right-click the printer icon and select "Set as Default Printer."
- Verify that there are no pending print jobs:
- Double-click the printer icon to open the print queue.
- If there are any documents in the print queue, cancel them and try printing again.
4. Restart the Print Spooler Service
- Open the "Run" dialogue by pressing Windows + R.
- Type services.msc and press Enter.
- Find "Print Spooler" in the list, right-click it, and select "Restart."
5. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Uninstall the current printer driver from "Device Manager":
- Open Device Manager by pressing Windows + X and selecting Device Manager.
- Expand "Printers" or "Print queues," right-click your HP LaserJet 1022 printer, and select "Uninstall device."
- Reinstall the latest driver from the HP Support Website.
6. Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and automatically fix any issues with your printer.
I hope this helps.
