Operating System: macOS 12.0 Monterey

Using macOS 15.1 Sequoia with a HP Envy Photo 7855 printer.  Printer previously connected to an iMac 10.12.6, WIRED. 

 

I downloaded HP Smart which was unable to find my printer, until I turned off wired and turned on wireless.  [It appears HP Smart can only connect wireless?]  I want to use my hard connection, Wired, into my new M4 Mac Mini.  How do I do this?

Simply go to System Preferences > Printers then Add the printer.

 

* Click YES   to say thank you, 

* Click Accepted Solution when question is answered.

The issue is not connection.  It is connected wirelessly, and I can't change it to wired.  When I turn off wireless on the printer panel, Word for Mac says printer not found, even though the USB is plugged in.  HP Smart does not seem to have any way to address wired or wireless.
