New printer but no Scan

I do not see where you mentioned your Operating System / version.

If you did so, the post failed to add the information.

Most scan features require the use of an application or software to fully configure the scan job.

Apps and Software vary by Operating System / version.

For example,

There are at least a couple of HP Scan apps / software in Windows

Plus

Microsoft / Windows includes a fairly decent Scan app (Windows Scan).

Microsoft still supports Windows Scan and Fax -- once understood, it's a nice option.

The printer does include a scan function at the printer.

The Scan to Computer feature must be configured.

The printer supports Web Scan using the Embedded Web Server (EWS) .

Web Scan should be enabled by Default.

The feature does not require extra software -- Web Scan does have to be configured each time to the job settings you want, plus the printer must be on your network so the scanned content can be saved to an available destination.

First Time Use Only – Verify / Enable Web Scan

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Section Network > Remote Scan > Item Web Scan = Switch ON

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
