Hi @SoSenior,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Check Printer Status and Connections

  • Ensure the printer is powered on and properly connected to your computer.
  • Verify that the printer is connected to the same network as your computer if using a wireless connection.
  • Make sure the printer is selected as the default printer.

2. Verify Printer Settings

  • Open your Word document.
  • Go to the File menu and select Print.
  • Ensure the HP DeskJet 4200e is selected in the printer drop-down list.

3. Check for Driver and Software Updates

  • Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest printer driver and software updates for your printer model.
  • Check for any firmware updates for your printer.

4. Clear Print Queue

  • Sometimes, documents stuck in the print queue can prevent new documents from printing.
  • Open the print queue and clear any existing print jobs.

5. Check Paper and Ink

  • Ensure there is enough paper and ink in the printer.
  • Verify that the ink cartridges are correctly installed and have sufficient ink.

6. Restart Devices

  • Restart both your printer and computer to refresh the connection.

7. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP Support website. This tool can diagnose and fix many printing issues.

I hope this helps.
