I just got a new printer HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e. When I tried to setup, it showed an error that blue setup cartridge is not recognised. Spoke with Customer service and got a replacement blue cartridge. After installing the replacement cartridge, now I am getting an error message that 'Use the setup cartridge that came with the printer. After the printer setup you can use normal cartridges".

Please suggest how I can resolve this issue of setting up the new printer.

Thanks

Hi @AQ63,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

When setting up a new HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e printer, it's essential to use the setup cartridges provided with the printer. If you're experiencing errors, here are the steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Check the Cartridge Type: Ensure that you are using the setup cartridge specifically labeled for use during the printer’s initial setup. Setup cartridges are different from regular and replacement cartridges.

Reinsert the Cartridge:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to stop moving.
  • Push down slightly on the top of the blue setup cartridge to release it and then remove it.
  • Reinsert the cartridge and ensure it clicks into place properly.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
  • Unplug the power cord from both the printer and the power outlet.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date by visiting Official HP® Support and downloading any available updates for your printer model.

Inspect for Physical Damage:

  • Check the cartridge and the cartridge slot for any visible damage or debris that might prevent proper functioning.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Thanks for your detailed step by step guidance. I went through all the steps however still getting the same error message " Blue C Cartridge problem  - The indicated cartridges are not communicating correctly with the printer. If this problem persists, replace the cartridges. "

I have checked the blue setup cartridge closely and there are no signs of any damage.

Please suggest if there is any other option to make this printer work.

Thanks and Regards
