How do you tell a new printer from a refurbished from HP?  We purchased a new printer it worked for 6 weeks then had 5 error messages.   Their help center, including the upper level, paying $100, moved around to 4 different techs.  They wanted to send a refurbished and then they agreed to a new one.   It’s arrived, I would like to verify it.

A couple of things, may or may not apply.

1. In the past, the model number sticker on the back would have a different model number to indicate a refurb.

2. Overall condition. My experience is that cosmetically, refurbs will have some signs of dirt or wear or scatches. If the unit looks new, it probably is.

Curious, what was the $100.00 for? What model of printer?
