I'm attempting to print on 4"x5" photo cards, using Adobe Photoshop.

The laughably simplistic Print Settings interface does not include the ability to enter custom dimensions for the print media. There are only some preconfigured sizes, like Letter, Legal, 4x6, et cetera. 4x5 is not one of them. Image attached.

Therefore I can only print by choosing the wrong size. I tried 4x6, but this creates problems with lining up the 5" image inside the 6" imaginary postcard.

Is there really no way to enter a custom size, the way any decent printer support would allow? How are we supposed to print other sizes? I am using a common Avery template for their 4x5 photo stickers, for example.

Whether you can add a custom paper size form depends on your printer model and the printer software.

What if?

Some older printers - and the older companion printer software for those printers - do not support all print sizes in Windows.  Some older printers / software do not support adding a Custom Paper Size form in Windows.

It might be necessary - even on a newer printer and newer printer software that supports a Custom Paper Size form - that the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software be installed to support a Custom Paper Size form.

Without the support for a Custom Paper Size, the Printing Preferences / Shortcut / settings are restricted to the driver support for paper sizes and type.

Custom Paper sizes used for Printing > Not all Custom Sizes are supported even in those printers (and software) that support the feature.  The printer model specifications might include this information.
