I have read similar posts and solutions on this board, but nothing has worked. I have completely uninstalled all HP software, downloaded the latest FULL software set, and installed the FULL software set. As I have read in other posts, I expected the Save dialog to give me an option to save as editable text. I do not have that option. I see no other OCR related software or options. How do I get this capability reinstalled?

Update!
I chose to dig out the original CD and reinstall from it. The CD DID include the IRIS OCR software in the list of applications to install, whereas the downloadable software DOES NOT.
Additionally...there seems to be a bug with the installer. You launch Setup and then it will eventually prompt to install HP Easy Start. After installing that and installing the FULL software and drivers, it eventually prompts to install Easy Start all over again. <sigh> So the bottom line...the only way to get OCR to work is to install from the CD...NOT from the downloadable files. It's not clear whether this is intentional or a defect! Suggest you clearly document this or correct the full software installer to include the OCR software. Also...it's quite annoying that multiple installers are asking duplcate questions regarding analytics, etc. Come on HP...get your act together!

Not sure will it work on WIN11 because using the latest OS and old printer might be challenging

Hi,
Please install the Universal Scan Driver to add OCR capabilities to HP Scan as described below:
Cheers.
