My printer is only 8 months old. All of a sudden, the power button doesn't work. I have done the plugging and unplugging and still not working. It has not been moved. I verified outlet was working. Anything else to try? I don't have another power cord to try. Let me know.

Have you tried reseating the power cable at *all* points--power outlet, connection to the power block if there is one, and the connection to the actual printer?  Any one of them could be the problem.  If that doesn't work, given that you don't have another cord to swap out, and presumably don't have the tools to test the power cord itself, I'd check to see how long the warranty runs. If it's a year warranty and you've only had it for 8 months. HP should  fix it, although support will probably want to take you through some steps online first to confirm it's doornail dead.

Actually, I did all that. Here's what worked. I held down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds. When I let go, the power came on. Who knew!

Way to go! I was actually thinking about suggesting trying to find a way to reset it, but thought it would be too hard to find!
